The Mighty Magpies were established in 1969 and have had a proud tradition in the Ipswich Hockey Association ever since.

Wests welcomes and caters to female and male players of all ages and abilities.
We have teams in all grades ranging from Hookin2Hockey (U5/U7/9-12 yrs), junior competition grades, and senior teams from social through to A Grade.

Hook in2 Hockey

Hookin2Hockey is a fantastic program designed for girls and boys aged 4 to 12, providing them with an exciting opportunity to learn the foundational skills of hockey in a fun and supportive environment. Participants not only develop essential motor skills but also build confidence, foster teamwork, and form lasting friendships. By igniting their passion for the sport, Hookin2Hockey sets the stage for a lifelong love of hockey and an active lifestyle!

As a guide, participants undertake this introductory program in age groups:

• 5 and under (born 2019 and younger),
• 7 and under (born 2017 & 2018) and
• 9 and under (born 2015, 2014, 2013 & 2012) age group
